JESSICA'S STORY

I grew up in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia on a winding road that twisted and dipped through the rolling hills of farmland - a perfect picture of both the beauty and heart-dropping moments my adult life would hold.

The place I felt most at home in the world was with family on my Grandmother’s Augusta County farm. When she passed at the age of 101 I simultaneously encountered the deepest of grief and gratitude for her well-lived life. During the pandemic, I had the privilege of living in and caring for her 1890’s farmhouse, which reconnected me with my roots after years of living in other states for music and ministry. That season of solitude gave way to songs that reflected on lessons learned from my elders and the beautiful legacy my family had offered me. It also opened the door for me to serve as Creative Arts Director and Worship Leader at New Beginnings Church - a place that welcomes all to the family of God - reminiscent of how it always felt to be welcomed at the farmhouse.

In 2024, a dear friend extended an incredible opportunity to record the songs I wrote in the farmhouse and the family history they hold in the historic RCA building on Music Row in Nashville, TN. Now, I’m releasing them to you one at a time, to share my story with you in hopes you’ll find pieces of yours within the lyrics. too.

Join me at Bridgewater’s Sipe Center on Saturday, March 21, 2026 for a hometown show and walk down memory lane through curated covers and original songs. and of course, family stories rooted in the Valley.

I would also love to see you at this year’s Dwell Gathering at Frieden’s Farm on Saturday, March 7. This transformative event designed to encourage, strengthen and unite women of Christ and I am honored to be this year’s worship leader.

You are also invited to be a part of the New Beginnings Church family any Sunday in Harrisonburg, Virginia. I guarantee you the warmest welcome you’ve ever received, heartfelt worship and a practical message!
